THE SOMOs™
October 6th 2026
Join us for an enjoyable and inspiring evening celebration to honour those advancing social mobility in 2026.
Be part of our 10-year story.
The SOMOs ™ is the awards gala night of the UK Social Mobility Awards. This year we are celebrating 10 years of the SOMOs and, since 2017, we have stood alongside the organisations and individuals working to transform opportunity across the UK. Together, we have championed ambition, recognised leadership, and celebrated practical action to advance social mobility.
Tables are selling fast!
The SOMOs Gala is more than an awards ceremony. It’s a chance to be part of the UK’s social mobility community, alongside leaders, educators, partners and changemakers who share a commitment to creating opportunities and breaking down barriers.
Whether you’re attending to support colleagues, celebrate your organisation’s achievements, recognise a team that’s gone above and beyond, or cheer on this year’s finalists, you’ll be part of an evening filled with inspiration, connection and celebration.
For finalists, there is also the excitement of being in the room when the winners are announced by our host, Sue Perkins. Sue says: “I’m really looking forward to hosting the SOMOs and celebrating all finalists who, through their work, are tackling issues access to education, fair recruitment and long-term career development.”
“What’s encouraging is the number of initiatives that confront these issues head-on. The common thread across all shortlisted entries is a belief that where you start in life shouldn’t define where you end up — and a determination to turn that belief into practical, measurable action.”
For all guests attending, it’s an opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come over the last decade and help shape what comes next.
Join us for a special celebration and be part of the night dubbed “The Oscars of social mobility” by The Times.
